SNEMA recently hosted its second General Congress at the SNAT Center in Manzini

The Swaziland National Ex-Mineworkers association recently hosted its second General Congress at the SNAT Center in Manzini. The successful elective congress was attended by 90 delegates from the 4 regions of Swaziland. The congress resolved that it must pressurize government to give in to SNEMA’s demands and look after their wellbeing. 80 delegates voted in the election.

It was in this congress where women were not allowed to be voted into key positions of the organization. This sparked an outcry from some of the delegates in attendance. But the issue was dealt with and the situation was calmed. Here is a list of the newly elected leadership:

Deputy President: Robert Ngwenya

Secretary General: Sydney Sikhosana

Deputy Secretary General: Jethro Thobela

Treasurer General: Zeblon Sikhondze

Members: Elias Ngwenya
